This Privacy Policy explains how Profile Lock Pro handles information when you use the Chrome extension. Profile Lock Pro is designed as a local privacy lock for normal Chrome profile tabs. It helps hide open tab contents from casual viewing using a password-protected lock screen, blur mode, blackout mode, auto-lock settings, and a dedicated lock page.

Simple summary: Profile Lock Pro does not collect, sell, share, transmit, or upload your data. All extension data stays locally in your browser.

2. Information We Store Locally

Profile Lock Pro may store the following information locally in your browser using Chrome extension storage:

3. Information We Do Not Collect

Profile Lock Pro does not collect or access any data for tracking, advertising, analytics, profiling, or sale.

  • We do not collect cookies, sessions, or login tokens.
  • We do not collect personal communications.
  • We do not collect financial, health, location, or identity information.
  • We do not use ads, trackers, analytics scripts, or external APIs.

4. How Information Is Used

Local information is used only for the extension’s single purpose: providing a local privacy lock for normal Chrome profile tabs. Specifically, it is used to:

  • Verify your password locally.
  • Display the lock screen while the profile is locked.
  • Apply auto-lock and inactivity lock settings.
  • Restore normal web tabs after unlock when supported.
  • Remember your theme and lock screen preferences.

5. Data Sharing and Selling

Profile Lock Pro does not sell, rent, transfer, disclose, or share user data with third parties. The extension does not send user data to any server.

6. Remote Code and External Requests

Profile Lock Pro is designed to run locally. It does not use remote code, external libraries, CDN scripts, analytics services, tracking pixels, or advertising networks.

7. Password Security

Your unlock password is processed locally in your browser. The extension stores a password hash and salt, not the plain-text password. You are responsible for choosing a strong password and keeping it private. Do not write your actual password in the hint field.

8. Chrome Extension Limitations

Profile Lock Pro is a local tab privacy helper. Chrome extensions cannot fully lock the entire computer, cannot fully protect Chrome internal pages such as chrome://extensions, and cannot prevent the Chrome profile owner from disabling or uninstalling an extension. For stronger device security, use your operating system password, disk encryption, and Chrome profile security.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

Local data remains in your browser until you change settings, reset the extension, clear browser extension storage, or uninstall the extension. You can remove stored extension data by using the reset option inside Profile Lock Pro or by removing the extension from Chrome.

10. Children’s Privacy

Profile Lock Pro is not intended to collect information from children. The extension does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

11. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if Profile Lock Pro changes how it handles data. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are made.
